Drivers in Grand Junction should prepare for several road closures, lane restrictions, and detours during the week of June 29, 2026.
City projects will affect Crosby Avenue, Four Canyons Parkway, D ½ Road, Patterson Road, and Riverside Parkway. Additional non-city projects will bring restrictions to Ute Avenue, Pitkin Avenue, Highway 340, and the 23 Road and Broadway roundabout area.
Alternate routes are advised where possible.
City of Grand Junction Projects
Crosby Avenue Improvements Project
Crosby Avenue will be closed between West Main Street and American Way.
Business and local traffic access will be maintained.
Four Canyons Parkway Project
Several restrictions remain in place around the Four Canyons Parkway project area.
25 Road will be closed between Flat Top Lane/Foresight Circle and Blichmann Avenue.
F ¼ Road is closed to through traffic from 25 Road to Zenith Lane. Resident access remains open.
Two-way traffic on 25 Road is open from Patterson Road to Flat Top Lane on a gravel surface.
Northbound traffic on 24 ¾ Road can no longer pass through Four Canyons Parkway.
25 Road also remains closed between Blichmann Avenue and F ½ Road.
Drivers should expect delays and use caution through the area.
D ½ Road Capacity Improvements Project
D ½ Road will be closed between 29 Road and 30 Road. Local traffic access will be maintained.
Access to and from San Juan Street will be closed at the intersection of San Juan Street and D ½ Road.
Detours are in place. Access to San Juan Street is available by using 29 ½ Road from D Road.
Patterson and 28 ½ Road
Work continues near Patterson Road and 28 ½ Road, near the Matchett Parkway entrance to the new recreation center.
The sidewalk along the north and south sides of Patterson Road is now open between 28 ¼ Road and 28 ¾ Road, also known as Legends Parkway.
Pedestrians crossing Patterson Road should continue to use 28 ¼ Road.
Lane closures began June 22 and remain in place. Alternate routes are advised.
Riverside Parkway Repair
Repair work is scheduled on Riverside Parkway between Dos Rios Drive and the 5th Street bridge.
One lane in each direction will be maintained, but lane restrictions will be in place.
Some pedestrian and bicycle detours will also be used during the project.
Non-City Projects
CDOT Ute and Pitkin Improvements
The Colorado Department of Transportation’s I-70B East of Third Street Improvements Project will continue to affect several downtown streets.
5th Street will be reduced to one lane between South Avenue and Colorado Avenue.
Single-lane closures and shoulder closures will be in place on Ute Avenue and Pitkin Avenue between 3rd Street and 6th Street.
4th Street will be reduced to a single lane between Colorado Avenue and Pitkin Avenue.
Business and residential access will remain open. Parking and alley access will also remain open.

CDOT Highway 340 Overlay
Lane closures will be in place for eastbound and westbound traffic across the Highway 340 bridge between Redlands Parkway and Grand Avenue.
Crews will work overnight from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m., Monday through Friday.
Drivers should expect delays during overnight work hours.
23 Road and Broadway Roundabout
Work continues near the 23 Road and Broadway roundabout.
Alcove Drive will be closed at 23 Road. Drivers can use Vista Grande Road or Columbine Drive to access 23 Road.
Alcove Drive will remain closed for the duration of the project.
Highway 340 will remain open to two-way traffic, with a 35 mph speed limit in the work zone.
Sidewalk access will be maintained, but pedestrians should stay clear of active work areas.
