Drivers heading to Lincoln Park will need to use the Gunnison Avenue entrance early next week, while road closures and lane restrictions continue along several Grand Junction routes.

The city's traffic advisory for the week of September 21 includes closures on Crosby Avenue, 25 Road, D ½ Road and Crossroads Boulevard, along with downtown lane restrictions for the Ute and Pitkin improvements project. Here's where to expect detours and how to reach affected destinations.

Lincoln Park: Use the Gunnison Avenue entrance

Shaw Construction is expected to close the Lincoln Park entrance off 12th Street from Monday, September 21, through Wednesday, September 23, while crews work in the area. Visitors should enter the park from Gunnison Avenue.

Crosby Avenue and Four Canyons Parkway

Crosby Avenue remains closed between West Main Street and American Way. Access for businesses and local traffic will be maintained.

The Four Canyons Parkway project continues to affect several roads:

  • 25 Road is closed between Flat Top Lane/Foresight Circle and Blichmann Avenue, and between Blichmann Avenue and F ½ Road.
  • F ¼ Road is closed to through traffic between 25 Road and Zenith Lane. Residents can still access their homes.
  • Two-way traffic is open on 25 Road between Patterson Road and Flat Top Lane, with vehicles traveling on a gravel surface.
  • Northbound traffic on 24 ¾ Road cannot pass through Four Canyons Parkway.

Follow posted detours and use caution on the gravel section and throughout the work zone.

D ½ Road: San Juan Street access changes

D ½ Road is closed between 29 Road and 30 Road, with local access maintained.

The intersection of San Juan Street and D ½ Road is closed to traffic entering or leaving San Juan Street. To reach San Juan Street, use 29 ½ Road from D Road and follow the detour signs.

Downtown: Lane restrictions on 4th, 5th, Ute and Pitkin

CDOT's Ute and Pitkin improvements project brings several restrictions south of downtown:

  • 5th Street is reduced to one lane between South Avenue and Colorado Avenue.
  • Ute and Pitkin avenues have single-lane and shoulder closures between 3rd and 6th streets.
  • 4th Street is reduced to one lane between Colorado Avenue and Pitkin Avenue.

Business and residential access will remain open, as will parking and alley access. Project questions can be directed to 970-880-0688 or I70bthirdstreet@gmail.com.

Broadway and 23 Road: Alcove Drive detour

Alcove Drive is closed at 23 Road for the duration of the roundabout project. Drivers can reach 23 Road via Vista Grande Road or Columbine Drive.

CO 340 remains open to two-way traffic, with a 35 mph speed limit through the work zone. Sidewalk access will be maintained. Expect delays and stay clear of active construction areas.

Crossroads Boulevard: Follow Compass Drive

Crossroads Boulevard is closed between its two intersections with Compass Drive. Traffic will detour onto Compass Drive.

Separate Friday advisory: Patterson Road signal repair

The same city notice includes a closure scheduled before the September 21 workweek: Patterson Road between 15th Street and Spring Valley Circle, beginning at 9 a.m. Friday, September 18, for traffic signal repairs at 27 ½ Road and Patterson.

A detour is planned during the repair. The notice does not provide a reopening time or say the closure will continue into the following week.

For all affected routes, follow posted signs and directions from traffic control personnel.
