Grand Junction drivers should expect road closures, lane restrictions and overnight construction the week of Aug. 17, including work on 25 Road, D 1/2 Road, Highway 340, Ute and Pitkin avenues.
Drivers around Grand Junction should prepare for another busy week of road construction beginning Monday, August 17, with closures and lane restrictions affecting several major corridors.
Work continues on Crosby Avenue, 25 Road, D 1/2 Road, Ute and Pitkin avenues, Highway 340 and the 23 Road and Broadway roundabout. A separate tree-trimming project will also bring short-term closures near 12th Street and Horizon Drive.
Here is what drivers should know for the week of August 17, 2026.
Crosby Avenue remains closed between West Main Street and American Way.
Business and local traffic access will be maintained during construction.
Several closures remain in place around the Four Canyons Parkway project:
Drivers should use caution in the construction zone and follow posted signs, traffic-control devices and instructions from workers.
D 1/2 Road will remain closed between 29 Road and 30 Road.
Local traffic will continue to have access, but access to and from San Juan Street will be closed at the intersection with D 1/2 Road.
Drivers trying to reach San Juan Street should use 29 1/2 Road from D Road.
Detour signs and traffic-control measures will be in place.
Tree-trimming work will cause several short-term closures near 12th Street and Horizon Drive.
Southbound 12th Street will be closed at Horizon Drive from 6:30 to 9:30 a.m.
Crews will then move to southwest-bound Horizon Drive for a roughly 30-minute closure, followed by another approximately 30-minute closure on northbound 12th Street.
Drivers traveling through the area during the morning should expect delays.
The Colorado Department of Transportation's I-70B East of Third Street Improvement Project will continue to affect downtown traffic.
Restrictions include:

CDOT crews will continue resurfacing work on Colorado Highway 340 between Redlands Parkway and Grand Avenue.
Lane closures will affect both eastbound and westbound traffic across the Highway 340 bridge.
Work is scheduled overnight from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m., Monday through Friday.
Drivers traveling between the Redlands and downtown Grand Junction during those hours should allow extra time.
Construction also continues at the 23 Road and Broadway roundabout.
Alcove Drive remains closed at 23 Road and is expected to stay closed for the duration of the project.
Drivers can use Vista Grande Road or Columbine Drive as alternate routes to reach 23 Road.
Colorado Highway 340 will remain open to two-way traffic through the construction area, with a 35 mph speed limit in effect.
Sidewalk access will remain available, but pedestrians should stay clear of active construction areas.
With construction affecting several heavily traveled routes at the same time, motorists should allow extra travel time and watch closely for detours, lane shifts and reduced speed limits.
