At the December 15 City Council workshop, Colorado Mesa University President John Marshall provided an update on the proposed football facility at Lincoln Park’s Stocker Stadium. The presentation follows the initial design shared with Council in September and reflects several months of continued dialogue between CMU, City leadership, and the Grand Junction community.

Since the first concept was unveiled, CMU and the City have incorporated public input, community feedback, and technical evaluations into revised design considerations. During the workshop, President Marshall presented an updated concept that preserves the historic Lincoln Park Barn, a feature many residents highlighted as an important community asset.

Draft design materials and additional project information are available on the City’s website at gjcity.org, where community members can also watch recordings of workshop discussions.

City officials emphasized that no final decisions have been made regarding the project. As evaluation and conversations continue, the City committed to keeping residents informed and engaged throughout the process.
