As overlay work on 6700 Road wraps up, the City of Montrose is preparing to begin the next round of street maintenance projects on Monday, June 15.
The upcoming work will affect 6450 Road, Hillcrest Plaza, several streets in the Bear Creek subdivision, Valley Way, and South Cascade Avenue. Motorists should expect temporary closures, detours, and construction activity in multiple neighborhoods throughout the week.

Trash and Recycling Schedules Remain the Same
The city says trash and recycling schedules will not change during the work.
Residents are asked to place trash and recycling containers outside by 6 a.m. so collection drivers can adjust routes and complete pickups before asphalt work begins for the day.
Plan Ahead
The City of Montrose is asking drivers and pedestrians to respect all work zones and detours while crews complete the next phase of the 2026 street maintenance program.

Several Saturdays in the spring and fall, Steve Siple joins other locals in Charlotte, North Carolina, to pick up trash along the city’s light rail lines. The volunteers typically clear about a mile of the trail before ending at a brewery to celebrate and socialize. It’s one of several ways Siple prioritizes social connection. (A.M.
