Motorists in Montrose should prepare for a long-term road closure beginning Monday, July 27, as the City of Montrose completes the final phase of construction at the intersection of Rio Grande Avenue and East Oak Grove Road.
City contractors will close the intersection starting at 8 a.m. to reconstruct the roadway and complete the final connections to the new roundabout. The closure is expected to remain in place through mid-September.
During construction, vehicles will not be able to travel through the curve connecting Rio Grande Avenue and East Oak Grove Road. Detour routes will direct drivers to nearby arterial roads around the work zone.

Drivers should expect longer travel times and follow posted detour signs throughout the duration of the project.
The closure marks one of the final construction stages for the new roundabout, which is designed to improve traffic flow and safety at one of Montrose's busiest intersections.
Work will focus on reconstructing the intersection and tying the existing roadway into the completed roundabout.
