Drivers in Grand Junction should plan for multiple road closures and lane reductions during the week of March 2 as city and state construction projects continue across key corridors.

Here’s what to expect.

Four Canyons Parkway Project

Full Closure:
25 Road will be closed from F ½ Road to Waite Avenue.

A temporary roadway is in place, and drivers are advised to use caution in the area. Detours and shifting traffic patterns may cause minor delays, especially during peak travel times.

D 1/2 Road Capacity Improvements

Closure:
D 1/2 Road will be closed from 29 Road to 30 Road.

The roadway will remain open to local traffic only, meaning through traffic should seek alternate routes. The project is part of ongoing efforts to improve capacity and traffic flow in the area.

CDOT I-70B Phase 7 Construction (Non-City Project)

State-led construction continues along the I-70 Business Loop corridor, with several impacts:

  • Single lane and shoulder closures on Ute and Pitkin avenues between 3rd and 6th Streets
  • Ongoing closures along Ute Avenue
  • 4th Street reduced to a single lane between Colorado Avenue and Pitkin Avenue

All business and residential access will remain open throughout construction.

What Drivers Should Know

Motorists should allow extra travel time, follow posted detours, and watch for changing traffic patterns. Construction zones may include narrowed lanes, temporary striping, and active crews.

For the latest updates and project details, residents can visit the respective project websites or the City of Grand Junction’s official channels.

Several Saturdays in the spring and fall, Steve Siple joins other locals in Charlotte, North Carolina, to pick up trash along the city’s light rail lines.
