Grand Junction drivers should expect continued closures on Crosby Avenue, 25 Road and D ½ Road, plus lane restrictions downtown and construction at the 23 Road and Broadway roundabout during the week of Sept. 7.
Drivers across Grand Junction will continue to encounter several significant road closures and lane restrictions during the week of September 7, including work on Crosby Avenue, 25 Road, D ½ Road, Ute and Pitkin avenues, and the 23 Road and Broadway roundabout.
The City of Grand Junction says local and business access will remain available through most construction areas, but drivers should expect detours and delays and follow posted traffic controls.
Crosby Avenue will remain closed between West Main Street and American Way as work continues on the Crosby Avenue Improvements Project.
Business and local traffic access will be maintained. Drivers should follow posted detour signs and directions from traffic control personnel.
Construction around the Four Canyons Parkway project continues to affect several roads in northwest Grand Junction.
25 Road remains closed between Flat Top Lane/Foresight Circle and Blichmann Avenue. It is also closed between Blichmann Avenue and F ½ Road.
F ¼ Road remains closed to through traffic between 25 Road and Zenith Lane, although residents will continue to have access.
Two-way traffic is open on 25 Road between Patterson Road and Flat Top Lane, but vehicles are traveling on a gravel surface. Northbound traffic on 24 ¾ Road can no longer pass through the Four Canyons Parkway construction area.
Drivers should use caution throughout the work zone and follow posted signs and traffic controls.
D ½ Road will remain closed between 29 Road and 30 Road as part of the D ½ Road Capacity Improvements Project. Local access will be maintained.
Access to and from San Juan Street at D ½ Road is also closed. Drivers trying to reach San Juan Street can use 29 ½ Road from D Road.
Detours are posted throughout the area.
The Colorado Department of Transportation's I-70B East of Third Street Improvement Project will continue to create lane restrictions near downtown Grand Junction.
Fifth Street will be reduced to one lane between South Avenue and Colorado Avenue. Single-lane and shoulder closures will also be in place on Ute Avenue and Pitkin Avenue between Third and Sixth streets.
Fourth Street will be reduced to a single lane between Colorado Avenue and Pitkin Avenue.
Business and residential access will remain open, along with parking and alley access.

Construction will also continue at the 23 Road and Broadway roundabout.
Alcove Drive remains closed at 23 Road, with detours available using Vista Grande Road or Columbine Drive. The closure is expected to remain in place for the duration of the project.
The south side of the 23 Road and Broadway intersection is scheduled to reopen Tuesday at 9 a.m. after crews completed storm drainage improvements in that area.
Colorado Highway 340 will remain open to two-way traffic, with a 35 mph speed limit through the work zone. Sidewalk access will also remain available.
Drivers should expect delays and avoid active construction areas.
