Drivers across Grand Junction should plan for multiple road closures and lane reductions the week of April 1, with major impacts tied to ongoing infrastructure upgrades and state highway work. Several key corridors will see detours, restricted access, and shifting traffic patterns.

Here’s what to know before you head out:

🚧 City of Grand Junction Projects with Travel Restrictions

Four Canyons Parkway Project

  • 25 Rd. & Waite Ave. intersection closed: April 1–8
  • 25 Rd. closure: Blichmann St. to Waite Ave. beginning Wednesday through early May
  • 24 3/4 Rd.: Reopens to traffic on April 1
  • Temporary roadway in place — use caution
  • Detours will be posted

D 1/2 Rd. Capacity Improvements

  • Full closure: D ½ Rd. between 29 Rd. and 30 Rd.
  • San Juan access closed to D ½ Rd.
  • Detour route: Use 29 ½ Rd. south to D Rd.
  • Local traffic only allowed in the work zone

Patterson Road at Matchett Park

  • Sidewalk closure: North side of Patterson Rd. between 28 1/4 Rd. and 28 3/4 Rd.
  • Pedestrian detours in place for the duration of the project

🚧 Non-City Projects with Travel Restrictions

CDOT I-70B Phase 7 Construction

  • 5th St.: Reduced to one lane between South Ave. and Colorado Ave. all week
  • Ute Ave. & Pitkin Ave.: Single-lane and shoulder closures between 3rd St. and 6th St.
  • Ute Ave.: Ongoing intermittent closures
  • 4th St.: Single lane between Colorado Ave. and Pitkin Ave.
  • All business and residential access remains open

CDOT CO 340 Resurfacing Project

  • Eastbound bridge: Single right lane closures
  • Work hours: 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., Monday through Friday

⚠️ What This Means for Residents

  • Expect delays on north-south connectors like 25 Rd. and 29 Rd.
  • Downtown travel near I-70B will remain congested with lane reductions
  • Plan extra time, especially during peak commute hours
  • Follow posted detours and watch for changing traffic patterns
