Grand Junction residents will have a new opportunity this month to connect directly with elected leaders, hear updates on city priorities, and ask questions about issues shaping the community.

The Grand Junction City Council is inviting the public to its Spring Town Hall on Monday, May 11, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Grand Junction High School Auditorium, located at 1400 N. 5th Street.

The event is free to attend, open to all community members, and does not require registration. Additional details are available through EngageGJ.org.

What the Spring Town Hall Is

The Town Hall is part of City Council’s broader Meet You There initiative, an ongoing effort designed to create more face-to-face engagement opportunities between city leadership and residents.

Rather than limiting public dialogue to formal council chambers, the initiative focuses on bringing city leaders into more accessible community spaces and encouraging broader participation.

According to the city, the Spring Town Hall will provide residents with opportunities to:

• Hear updates on key city projects and priorities
• Ask questions directly to City Council members
• Share feedback on local issues
• Engage in open dialogue about Grand Junction’s future

Meet You There: Expanding Civic Access

The Meet You There initiative has become a growing part of Grand Junction’s community engagement strategy, aiming to meet residents where they already gather rather than expecting all civic participation to happen through formal government channels.

For residents who may not regularly attend City Council meetings, this format may offer a more approachable way to participate in local government conversations.
