Gifts & Abilities is a Grand Junction based nonprofit social enterprise built on a simple belief: every person deserves the chance to thrive through meaningful work. Founded by Valley resident Jenn Korte, the organization provides dignified employment, skills development, and community connection for adults with developmental and intellectual disabilities.
Their storefront offers a wide range of handcrafted goods, curated gifts, and unique home items, all while directly supporting life changing opportunities for local artisans.
At their shop, visitors will find handmade soaps, candles, jewelry, home decor, seasonal items, apparel, and locally sourced specialty goods. Many products are created by the program’s participants, giving shoppers the chance to support both creative expression and economic empowerment.
The shop also carries pieces from regional makers and small businesses, which helps reinforce its mission to lift up the broader Western Slope community.
Gifts & Abilities centers its work on building pathways to independence. Participants learn vocational skills, customer service, product creation, merchandising, and workplace routines in a setting that is supportive and tailored to individual needs.
This model helps adults with disabilities gain confidence, employment experience, and community engagement. Every purchase directly supports these programs and expands opportunities for current and future participants.
