Drivers in Grand Junction can expect several road closures and lane restrictions this week as multiple city and state transportation projects continue across the area.

Four Canyons Parkway Project

Construction activity related to the Four Canyons Parkway project will bring several temporary closures and detours.

• 25 Road remains closed between F ½ Road and Waite Avenue, though a temporary roadway is in place. Drivers are urged to use caution when traveling through the area.

• F ¼ Road will be closed between 25 Road and Zenith Lane Monday through Tuesday while crews complete work in the corridor.

• Beginning Wednesday, 24 ¾ Road will be closed between Apex Avenue and Wolcott Avenue for approximately two weeks. Detours will be posted to guide drivers around the work zone.

D ½ Road Capacity Improvements

Work on the D ½ Road Capacity Improvements Project continues with a full closure between 29 Road and 30 Road.

Access from San Juan Avenue to D ½ Road is also closed. Drivers should use 29 ½ Road south to D Road as an alternate route. The corridor remains open only to local traffic during construction.

Patterson Road Sidewalk Closure

At Patterson Road near Matchett Park, the sidewalk on the north side of Patterson Road between 28 ¼ Road and 28 ¾ Road is closed for the remainder of the project. Pedestrian detours are in place to maintain access around the work area.

CDOT I-70B Phase 7 Construction

Several traffic impacts are also expected from the Colorado Department of Transportation’s I-70B Phase 7 project.

• 5th Street will be closed between South Avenue and Colorado Avenue all week.
• Single lane and shoulder closures will occur on Ute Avenue and Pitkin Avenue between 3rd and 6th Streets.
• Ute Avenue closures will continue throughout the project area.
• 4th Street will be reduced to a single lane between Colorado Avenue and Pitkin Avenue.

Despite the closures, access to businesses and residences in the area will remain open.

CO 340 Resurfacing Project

CDOT is also continuing resurfacing work on Colorado Highway 340, where drivers should expect single right-lane closures on the eastbound bridge.

Construction crews will be working Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Officials encourage drivers to plan ahead, follow posted detours, and slow down in construction zones as work continues on these transportation improvements across Grand Junction.
