# Grand Junction Traffic Alert: Road Closures and Construction for the Week of Aug. 24

Drivers around Grand Junction should expect another busy week of construction, with several ongoing city projects, overnight work on Colorado Highway 340, and lane restrictions along Ute and Pitkin avenues.

Here are the major traffic impacts scheduled for the week of Aug. 24, 2026.

## Crosby Avenue remains closed

Crosby Avenue will remain closed between West Main Street and American Way as work continues on the Crosby Avenue Improvements Project.

Business and local traffic access will be maintained.

## Four Canyons Parkway and 25 Road

Construction around the Four Canyons Parkway project continues to affect several roads in northwest Grand Junction.

- 25 Road is closed between Flat Top Lane/Foresight Circle and Blichmann Avenue.
- F 1/4 Road remains closed to through traffic between 25 Road and Zenith Lane. Residents can still access their properties.
- Two-way traffic is open on 25 Road between Patterson Road and Flat Top Lane, but drivers will be traveling on a gravel surface.
- Northbound traffic on 24 3/4 Road can no longer pass through Four Canyons Parkway.
- 25 Road remains closed between Blichmann Avenue and F 1/2 Road.

Drivers should use caution through the construction zone and follow posted signs and instructions from traffic control crews.

## D 1/2 Road closure continues

As part of the D 1/2 Road Capacity Improvements Project, D 1/2 Road will remain closed between 29 Road and 30 Road.

Local traffic will continue to have access.

Access to and from San Juan Street at D 1/2 Road is closed. Drivers traveling to San Juan Street should use 29 1/2 Road from D Road.

Detour signs are in place.

## Lane restrictions on Ute, Pitkin and downtown streets

The Colorado Department of Transportation continues work on the I-70B East of Third Street Improvement Project, affecting Ute Avenue, Pitkin Avenue and nearby streets.

During the week:

- Fifth Street will be reduced to one lane between South Avenue and Colorado Avenue.
- Single-lane and shoulder closures will affect Ute Avenue and Pitkin Avenue between Third and Sixth streets.
- Fourth Street will be reduced to one lane between Colorado Avenue and Pitkin Avenue.

Business and residential access will remain open, along with parking and alley access.

## Overnight work on the Highway 340 bridge

CDOT crews will continue an overlay project on Colorado Highway 340 between Redlands Parkway and Grand Avenue.

Lane closures will affect both eastbound and westbound traffic across the Highway 340 bridge.

Crews are scheduled to work overnight from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m., Monday through Friday.

Drivers using the bridge during overnight hours should plan for delays.

## 23 Road and Broadway roundabout construction

Construction also continues near the 23 Road and Broadway roundabout.

Alcove Drive is closed at 23 Road and will remain closed for the duration of the project. Drivers can use Vista Grande Road or Columbine Drive to reach 23 Road.

Colorado Highway 340 will remain open to two-way traffic, with a 35 mph speed limit through the work zone.

Sidewalk access will remain available, but pedestrians are asked to stay clear of active construction areas.

Drivers should expect delays.

## Industrial Boulevard closed for water connection

Industrial Boulevard will be closed between 24 1/2 Road and 25 Road, near 2467 Industrial Boulevard, through the week for a water connection project.

Access will remain available for local businesses and deliveries.

Drivers traveling through construction areas should allow extra time, watch for changing traffic patterns and follow posted detours and directions from traffic control personnel.
