The City of Grand Junction is urging drivers to allow extra travel time, follow posted detours and use caution around active construction zones. ## West Lake Parking Lot Closes Through Sept. 11 The West Lake parking lot will be fully closed beginning Monday, August 31, while city crews repave the surface. The closure is expected to continue through Friday, September 11\. Alternate parking will be available along Poplar Drive and West Orchard Avenue. ## Crosby Avenue Remains Closed Crosby Avenue remains closed between West Main Street and American Way as work continues on the Crosby Avenue Improvements Project. Access will remain available for businesses and local traffic. Drivers should follow posted detours and directions from traffic control personnel. ## Four Canyons Parkway Construction Continues Several restrictions remain in place around the Four Canyons Parkway project. 25 Road is closed between Flat Top Lane/Foresight Circle and Blichmann Avenue. It also remains closed between Blichmann Avenue and F 1/2 Road. F 1/4 Road is closed to through traffic between 25 Road and Zenith Lane, although residents can continue to access their properties. Two-way traffic is open on 25 Road between Patterson Road and Flat Top Lane, but motorists will be traveling on a gravel surface. Northbound traffic on 24 3/4 Road can no longer pass through the Four Canyons Parkway construction area. Drivers traveling through the area should expect changing traffic patterns and follow all posted signs and traffic control instructions. ## D 1/2 Road Closed Between 29 and 30 Roads D 1/2 Road remains closed between 29 Road and 30 Road for the city's capacity improvement project. Local access will be maintained. Access between San Juan Street and D 1/2 Road is also closed at the intersection. Drivers trying to reach San Juan Street should use 29 1/2 Road from D Road. Detour signs are in place throughout the area. ## Downtown Lane Restrictions on 4th and 5th Streets Colorado Department of Transportation work on the I-70B East of Third Street Improvement Project will continue to affect downtown traffic. Fifth Street will be reduced to one lane between South Avenue and Colorado Avenue. Fourth Street will also be reduced to a single lane between Colorado Avenue and Pitkin Avenue. Drivers should also expect single-lane and shoulder closures along Ute and Pitkin avenues between Third and Sixth streets. Business and residential access will remain open, along with parking and alley access. Crews are scheduled to work from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. Monday through Friday as part of a CDOT overlay project. ## Alcove Drive Closed at 23 Road Construction of the 23 Road and Broadway roundabout continues to affect traffic in the Redlands. Alcove Drive is closed at 23 Road and is expected to remain closed for the duration of the project. Drivers can use Vista Grande Road or Columbine Drive as detour routes to reach 23 Road. CO 340 will remain open to two-way traffic through the construction zone, with a 35 mph speed limit. Sidewalk access will remain available, although pedestrians should stay outside active work areas. Drivers should expect delays near the project. The restrictions are part of several city and state transportation projects underway across Grand Junction. Construction schedules can change because of weather, equipment issues or other conditions, so motorists should watch for updated signage when traveling through work zones. ##
